We really enjoyed a short spring break at The Bank. Weather was great so that was a bonus!Our room was very comfortable and spacious.Noise from the road was quiet enough for a long, lovely sleep.We had a great meal in the dining room and the Breakfast was one if the best we have had. We would recommend.

Have stayed at The Bank often always book sea views.Rooms are lovely and so peaceful looking out to harbour staff are very pleasant and can't do enough for you special mention to Emma and Victor.Plenty choices for breakfast which was very good can't wait to come back soon

I stayed overnight with my 2 sons.My husband died and we where going too sprinkle his ashes in the sea because he loved Anstruther.we had stayed in the bank many many times and never ever complained. My breakfast order was completely wrong I was giving items that I did not order andnit the items that I didI spoke to the waitress and was then giving another breakfast.The mushrooms had not been heated and the bacon was undercooked. I was then giving another breakfast.but by this time it was approaching 10 am check out time.I had no problems with this but I had no time to eat it.My sons had already left the table and where anxious to check out.Whrn I checked out I told the male receptionist my experience. He already knew as he was in the restaurant.I asked for a reduction on my bill he gave me an insulting £5 .His answer was that they had rectified the problem. I knew that but but I was in the restaurant fir more than 1 hour waiting for my breakfast.I think the customer service was deplorable. I will never stay in the bank again or recommend it to anyone.

My sister-in-law and I are just back from the Bank after another great 3 days.We go twice a year and as usual the food was lovely, staff always very pleasant and we had our favourite room with a fab view. Very clean and comfortable.

We so enjoy coming to Anstruther and staying at The Bank Hotel. The rooms are fresh, the staff are friendly and very helpful the breakfast is delicious.

We stayed two nights at The Bank, our first visit to the Fife coast from near Inverness and it was an excellent base for the costal path, Pittenweem, Crail and St Andrews.We were given a large, comfortable room with a king size bed (2 singles = 6ft), en suite with bath and shower over, and tea and coffee making facilities with a small fridge.In short, all that you need.Breakfast was good - we don't eat cooked, but others staying were enjoying the works.We ate out in the evening, so can't comment there, but other reviews are complimentary.We enjoyed our stay and the staff were helpful and friendly. Many thanks.Only one minor point was that if you are over the bar, the music is quite loud and till 01:00 on some nights, but didnt stop us sleeping well.

This is the fourth time we have stayed at The Bank. The rooms are very comfortable & spotless. The staff are very pleasant & hard working. Food in the restaurant is excellent with a great choice. Would recommend this place for a wee break if in Anstruther

Been about 6 times now never disappointed rooms clean staff very friendly got to mention catherine went above and beyond when we had an issue always get the full breakfast sets you up for the day highly recommended

Stayed here as a group of four elder males for one night whilst golfing nearby.Rooms simple but large, clean and functional. Shower, tv, tea making facilities all worked and good quality.A very nice bar area good atmosphere and dinner and breakfast food in restaurant was excellent.If in the area again I and my friends would not hesitate to book this hotel.

Booked for one night B n B and stayed, not for the first time, in No 19B. A big well appointed en-suite room which is pretty quiet even though it faces the front. Staff are great as is the breakfast choice. We will come back. Only downside - a squeaky floor, but it is an old building.

Had a 1 night stay at The Bank. Room was lovely. Beds were comfortable. Friends stayed in room overlooking the street and said it was noisy, our room was downstairs so no noise. Didn't like the green exit light which was too bright in the room. Breakfast next day was very nice. Would recommend this hotel

Had very good stay, big room good shower good breakfast and very good evening meals,the only problem was that the large bed was very soft and made up with 2 x 3ft mattresses that both sloped towards the middle,

A nice stay was had at the Bank for a couple of nights, food was absolutely amazing, staff were friendly and interested in providing a great service, Anstruther is a lovely little place with a lovely harbour and places to eat and drink.Only drawback of the hotel was parking and the rooms are a little dated but comfortable. Public areas I.e. bar, restaurant and toilets, have been modernised to a good standard but the bedrooms could do with an update of furniture etc.

Twin room was really spacious and the bathroom was gorgeous.The sea view was stunning. Breakfast was awesome! Staff were great. Fab short stay in this hotel.

I stayed at the Bank for 4 nights whilst working in the area. I can’t recommend it highly enough. Room was huge and very clean, housekeeping came in every day.Breakfast and evening meal were fantastic with meal being very well priced. Staff were very attentive and could not recommend highly enough!!

Friendly and helpful staff especially with our luggage.Room 19B was spacious and warm. Well equipped with fridge and lots of sockets and huge TV. Double bed was not zipped together leaving ridges and hole in the middle also floor squeaked.

Very friendly staff, spotless rooms, we forgot to empty our wardrobe before we left, phoned when we realised and our clothing was returned to us within 2 days - absolutely brilliant service

We spent two nights at the Bank. The room was large, comfortable and clean. It was very windy through the night and the windows were draughty. However the room was very warm.The staff were friendly and efficient.The breakfast was excellent and the portions large.There was a good selection of real ale in the bar and the evening meals were also excellent.

Had a lovely overnight in the Bank. The room was beautiful with a gorgeous view,could have sat there all day. Everything was spotless and staff were friendly and accommodating. First class breakfast as well. Will be booking to come back. Highly recommended.

An excellent stay. Very comfortable and clean accommodation. Dinner in the restaurant was excellent with a large choice on the menu. Breakfast in the morning was also first class. We enjoyed our stay very much and will definitely return.

We stayed on a busy Friday night, and were given a spacious, warm, cleanand comfortable room, with a large king-size bed, in the small annex. We dined in the hotel restaurant, where the staff were very friendly and welcoming, and the food was well prepared, quickly served and tasty. Breakfast in the dining room (directly overlooking the local river and shore) was plentiful and nourishing. Car-parking was free in the adjacent streets, where we easily found a space. We would definitely recommend this hotel

Was only one night but had a great stay. Room was warm and comfortable. Had dinner and breakfast both of which were very good. Would not hesitate to stay again.

The rooms were spotlessly clean, spacious and pleasant. The staff were lovely - very professional and helpful. The restaurant had a pleasing environment and the food was enjoyable, although the portions were too big for our tastes.

We had a lovely stay at The Bank. We had to cancel on short notice a couple of weeks before because of the weather and the manager very kindly provided other weekend options. We had stayed here before and asked for a back room as it can be noisy when the pub empties at the end of the night. Our room was fabulous. Staff were so friendly and helpful. We ate in the restaurant on our first night and at the sister restaurant, The Waterfront, our second night. Food on both occasions was very good. Breakfast was huge and very tasty. Thanks again and we’ll definitely be back.

Was easy to check in, room was lovely, we had a view of the water and pier, just really nice to look out on. Bed was comfy too. Had everything we needed and room was clean and comfy. Breakfast was good, plenty to choose from on menu and cereals and fruit too. Would happily stay again.

Another great stay at the bang hotel . Rooms are so spacious and clean . They even went out of their way and gave some of the group single rooms . Breakfasts and dinner the highlight of our trip . Staff so friendly.. highly recommend and can’t way to return again

We stayed at the Bank as a group of 18 to celebrate a 60th Birthday and the staff couldn’t do enough to help us arrange the surprise party and to ensure that it ran smoothly. Thank you all so much !

On arrival on Thursday afternoon was greeted at reception by very welcoming lady receptionist. She assisted me with my luggage due to disability. In all my two day stay at the hotel I was very impressed by the cleanliness and first and foremost the attention to detail throughout. I dine both days and impressed by the waitresses addressing to the chef the importance to my allergies. This was done to the request. The hotel in itself is so relaxing and very enjoyable stay. Well done and thanks to all. I would recommend to my friends.

Overall, really enjoyed our second stay at the Bank. Room was a bit unusual, looking directly on to the pavement! Very comfortable though and nice decor. Breakfast was excellent, really nice produce and very generous - small niggle that we were advised there was an extra charge for herbal tea😕. Overall though, nice place to stay - we would recommend and we’ll be back.

We had gone for a few days but with hindsight wished we had asked for a room with a walk-in shower when booking. The room had lovely but we wish it had two chairs to sit one whilst watching TV. Not having sky at home we struggled with the TV but that was very quickly sorted out for us by the young man behind the bar - sorry I didn't get your name - who also sorted out opening the window in our room.Breakfast on our first day was absolutley huge - appetites not quite the same as you age, so as we hate to waste food we were very prescriptive on what we wanted on our plate and this was very easily accomodated by Amy who excellently ran the breakfast room on her own.Even meal - we had booked in for an evening meal but as my husband had seen the size of the portions whilst he was sat in the bar afternoon reading & having a drink - another slight niggle no comfy chairs for hotel guests - perhaps a small lounge - we had decided to have two starters, not a problem. The restaurant was ran that night solely by Olivia - what a little workhorse she was. The two girls definitly deserve a mention and a bonus!Overall a fantastic stay despite my tumble over the very dark speed bump in the little street walking up from the harbour - beware walking up in the dark!!

Rooms lovely, very well decorated and laid out.Staff attentive at check in / out and breakfast.Limited onsite parking but plenty in surrounding area but do consider daytime parking restrictions in surrounding streets.Rooms are accessed in seperate entrance to pub with some rooms above / to the left of the pub entrance, wasn't noisy during a mid week stay with only some voices on leaving or outside smoking which would affect opening windows in warmer weather.

Stayed for 2 nights midweek in mid January. Were made welcome and asked if there were any alternative rooms to the one we booked. Were accommodated next door in Room 19C which was fantastic. 2 rooms actually - en suite bedroom and separate TV lounge, both with lovely views. Breakfast both mornings were great. Had dinner the first night and really enjoyed the fajitas. Would recommend staying here.

We had a really lovely stay at The Bank. The staff were extremely kind and helpful, the room was lovely and spacious and th views are beautiful.

Great value for money, great location, room was perfect, staff very friendly and helpful during our stay, Bar, food and breakfast spot on. All round excellent.

Good accommodation in a great location. Parking could be an issue but we managed to park outside the front door each night. The restaurant was good and breakfast was great. It’s a great base to explore the area from. Lovely coastal paths in both directions.

Lovely food, staff and room. Only issue was the traffic noise (room 19B) and no full length mirror.

Spotlessly clean and comfortable room, great dinner menu and one of the most extensive breakfast menus we have ever seen.Staff were all welcoming and provided a really professional service.Highly recommend this hotel.

Stayed in room 4 with lovely sea view. Friendly staff. Breakfast was great as there were options other than full breakfast. Warm filled croissants with generous filling. Excellent eggs Benedict. Reasonably priced for what we got. Would return. Only thing that could have improved our stay would be in site parking but we got parked not far away and there's a free carpark along the road. Would like to try the beer garden in the summer.

We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay at the Bank. The location is ideal in this picturesque little town in the East Neuk of Fife. It was very good value for the quality of food and accommodation and we will definitely be back again. Staff were very friendly, the room was warm, very comfortable bed and super soft bed linen, and delicious food in the restaurant 5 ⭐️

We were impressed with the size and comfort of the room itself - staff also friendly. We were warned on checkin that there would be a late licence in the bar that night (shuts at 2am) this in itself is fine with us but outside our window there was a lot of arguing at closing time so we couldn’t get to sleep. I think on these occasions it would make a difference if the hotel offered a later check out time for guests because we had to be up early for breakfast and then check out by 10am so did not feel very well rested

Absolutely loved our 3 night stay. Staff members were all very friendly. The most comfortable bed and the shower was fantastic. Huge tv with sky, Netflix etc. Exceptional breakfast with top notch produce. Ate dinner one night too and loved it. The whole place was spotless, rooms, bar and restaurant. Can’t wait to go back!

We booked the bank with friends, they had stayed before and said it was great. So we went for 3 nights and stayed for Hogmanay, just loved it.We booked the suite rooms, with a view. Beautiful room, very spacious.Would certainly visit again.All the staff looked after us very well, very welcoming and professional.

Excellent welcome from the moment we arrived and extremely genuine friendly attentive service from all the fabulous staff - on every interaction they were flexible and accommodating. The breakfast was outstanding too - fresh local smoked haddock with poached eggs in particular but we also tried the smoked salmon (also delicious) and my partner had the full Scottish and loved it all. We loved our view too looking into the Dreel burn and church yard. Really picturesque.

Quaint little place - great stay.

Excellent all round. Rooms were large and very comfortable. Staff were helpful. Breakfasts were lovely although the toast wasn't!!! Restaurant for dinner was great. As a hotel, good value for money. Would definitely revisit and recommend to others.

As usual all good couple of minor issues with room reported to manager who was going to sort. Asked for flowers for partners 60th bday lovely flowers in room on arrival thank you. Taking 6 family members to hotel in January for bday celebration sure will enjoy as much as we do 😊

Following a recent illness we decided to book a few days at The Bank.We had a lovely time, the staff were excellent and the room (#6) was spacious & comfortable.The tv had so many options however we lost the basic sky channels which we didn’t get back.My only complaint was the breakfast on the second morning which was not great.We were there at 9.45 therefore near the end of breakfast time and the food was not freshly made but likely sitting under a grill or just being kept warm. This included bacon, fried eggs, mushrooms and even the toast was cold!Such a shame as our experience of the hotel and staff, other than this, was very good!

Only down side I'm coeliac and didn't see any GF cereal. (I had brought my own)Would have liked a GF sausage on my breakfast plate. A bit disappointed.Will return next year but could you address GF food.Kind RegardsMary

Lovely room which was well serviced during 3 night stay. Good breakfasts each morning. Only criticism would be last night when we had booked evening meal. Had been looking forward to eating off Christmas menu, to be advised it wasn't available despite being advertised. We would stay again as is a great location .

Beautiful view from our room which was spacious and very comfortable. Friendly staff who were always on hand to help. Excellent breakfasts with fantastic smoked salmon which we failed to find in St Monans. A better variety of bread (sourdough/whole grain) would have been appreciated. Also scrambled eggs not as good as poached!Would stay again because of price, comfort and views.

Back for our annual visit to Anstruther staying at the Bank. Wonderful hotel, friendly staff, spotless clean and room very spacious.Only one small issue, our shower did not seem to have little orany cold water supply, water was too hot to have proper shower,

The accommodation was perfect, room very comfortable, beautiful view from the back room which looked out to sea, very central with beautiful walks. The only minus point would be that no fruit was on offer at breakfast. Staff were very pleasant and there was an enjoyable buzz about the place on the Saturday as the locals appear to enjoy drinking there too!

We recommend The Bank as a lovely place to stay. Great room, very comfortable, good breakfast and delicious dinner.Everyone very helpful and friendly. The hotel is situated close to the harbour , with beautiful views.

The Bank is one of our favourite places to stay and we return most Autumns to enjoy the costal path, the lovely cottages and the great food and hospitality in Anstruther. The hotel itself has cosy and peaceful rooms which, to the back, overlook lovely gardens, a sandy beach with lots of costal birds and the sea. The food in the pub/restaurant is excellent and the staff are very kind and helpful with nothing too much trouble. We'll be back again as soon as we can!

Fantastic time as always. The Bank staff and food are amazing. Maybe potions of food two much but that’s a good complaint. 5 out of 5 for location and cleanliness. Staff were very helpful and friendly. This is the 4th or 5th time we have stayed at the Bsnk without any complaints.

Anstruther was our first stop coming from EDI and USA. We had a lovely check in experience and dinner was absolutely delicious. Our only unfortunate experience was the location of our room, as it was adjacent to the pub, and faced the street. Being our first night, we went to bed early and the patrons were loud after leaving.

Room 19A (booked as a superior with sea view) was excellent. Very spacious, warm, nicely equipped and a lovely big bathroom with separate bath and shower. Room was very quiet both from internal stairwell and from outside. Lovely sitting are to enjoy the view of the coast and harbour.Food in the dining room was very nice and well priced.Will definitely stay again in future visits to East Neuk.

This was my second stay in anstruther and 1st time at the bank hotel from start to finish the staff made us very welcome especially the bar who remembered our drinks and were very attentive. The rooms were excellent clean and comfortable overall a great experience and my friends from the states absolutely loved it ! Can’t wait to come back

Really impressed by the quality of the accommodation and the friendly reception. Only very small recommendation would be for some fresh fruit for breakfast but having said that the choice for cooked options was really good. We will certainly recommend this hotel to others

Stayed here for an overnight with a group of golfers. Hotel is ideally located for access to the town. Nice friendly welcome from the staff who showed us to our rooms. Rooms themselves are comfortable with plenty of space and comfortable bed. Nice bathroom and view out to sea over a small garden area.Hotel is attached to a pub serving good food and the breakfast here was excellent.Only downside is the limited on site parking but there is other parking nearby.Would stay here again, thanks to all at the Bank

Took an Autumn family break here and was very pleasant. Anstruther is an attractive village with a good level of amenity. The 3 mile walk to Crail across the cliffs is a good way to spend an afternoon. Hotel was clean, with a spacious room and good quality food. Lot of choice at breakfast. We would definitely stay again.

Enjoyed my stay, my only downside was being disabled, the access was a bit difficult, but the staff were very helpful in helping me. Again being disabled parking was not easy

One night stay at this lovely hotel. We had an upper sea view room. It was very clean and had all amenities you would need. The bathroom was very roomy. The only problem was we couldn't control the temperature of the shower it was either very hot or hotter! I'm sure this will easily be remedied. The staff were extremely pleasant and helpful both at checkin/out and breakfast. Breakfast was excellent, hot food made to order and was delicious. I would highly recommend this hotel and would not hesitate to stay there again.

We were surprised when we first drove up to The Bank as we thought it would be grander, but the minute we walked in we knew we had found a winner! It is exceptionally clean, comfortable and the staff are amazing. We’ve been hiking so had lots of dirty clothes and they happily washed and folded them in one day. Amazing! Thanks Victor !!! The breakfast is top notch as are the views from the breakfast room. Super value for a lovely hotel ! We’ll be back and bring a group of hikers with us next time !

What a find!! A lovely old building, brimming with enthusiastic young staff. We checked in to a lovely room overlooking thewater. The hotel side was clean, and well equipped.We headed to the bar and enjoyed a good few hours, the bar staff and some other staff who were off duty were chatty and friendly.In the morning we had a Scottish breakfast... so huge! It would easily have fed 2 grown men. Cooked beautifully, one of the best hotel breakfast I had ever eaten and I am in hotels alot.The waitress was second to none.A rare, rare find to get a place to stay with such comfortable beds, good friendly company and great food.We will most definitely be back.Thank you for a wonderful stay

The beds came apart during the night. Both of us slipped into the gap. Lights above the door and in the bathroom wouldn't turn off.

The Bank accommodation (room 19A) was a superb superior room with a great view overlooking the harbour area. The room was spacious and very well appointed. A large bathroom with bath and walk in shower. Staff were extremely helpful and the breakfast was first class with a wide choice of dishes.If in the area again we would be delighted to stay at the Bank. It came recommended by friends and it lived up to its reputation as a great venue to stay and it's quality food.

Once again the Bank - Anstruther excels in both personality and quality of accommodation.Superb staff attentive and very sociable. The food was delicious - the scallops were unbelievable- a must for all .Third time staying - we will definitely be back.

Great base if you’re visiting this area. The hotel is in a very convenient position and our sea view room was massive and well equipped. Staff were friendly and attentive, and we had a lovely dinner plus a proper vegetarian cooked breakfast. We will definitely be back.

We were on our way to the Cairngorms from the Lake District and needed a stop to refresh and refuel and visit the lovely towns along the coast so we chose The Bank. A comfy room, loads of hot water, great supper and breakfast for a very reasonable price. We’d definitely stay again should we return this way. Thanks to everyone at the establishment for great service.

We stayed at "The Bank" for five nights. The Hotel sounded good and turned out to be just that. The Room (Luxury Suite) was everything we expected, clean and comfortable. Unfortunately we didn't realise we were down stairs at ground level with no view with the Beer Garden six foot wall outside our Patio doors. However the Food, Staff, and facilities in the Hotel made up for it. Staff were great and the food first class. An old building and footfall in the room above plus water noises was expected I suppose. The only real negatives were the problems regarding the Two TV's in the Suite.Although complete with every station and more we eventually after three days of staff trying to fix them we settled for the large set working and stopped reporting the other one. Our room, however was excellent and we enjoyed our stay. We definitely would return but equally we would avoid Room 27b. Lastly with only 4 Parking slots be aware, though there is a free Carpark about 10 minutes away. We were lucky and found a parking slot each time we returned.

We booked for 2 nights. Room was fantastic with sea view. Breakfast was great - super selection. All the staff we dealt with were lovely & friendly. We had dinner in the bar on second night & it was delicious! This place is amazing for all the reasons above & its location. Highly recommended & would most definitely return! We stayed in Room 6 - lovely bedroom, seperate bathroom & sitting area with seaview which was fab - the only downside is you can experience alot of noise as people lenter & leave the bar.Didnt feel housekeeping was as thorough as previous visits.Breakfast not as good as previous visits - food cold,hard toast - one wautress trying her best to serve lots of people - more staff needed.We enjoy the location of hotel & will return.

An old style pub/hotel. Clean quiet room with sea view. Comfortable king size bed. En-suite shower and bath. Staff friendly and very efficient. Good breakfast choices. Some signs of recent renovations, some things still need to be done. Good to find an old style place with individual character rather than big chain blandness. No hotel parking but free car park up the road.

Our favourite hotel is not perfect. Just very, very good for us.For us its strengths are great staff, wonderful seafood, breakfasts still in our top 5, great views at the back. Yes you cannot get parked, it is noisy at the front and is often a boisterous pub and there is no lift. We chose to spend our golden wedding here and try to come each year. A real gem!

Lovely room- very modern, spacious and clean apart from a few hairs in bathroom. Comfortable bed. Unfortunately wi-fi signal not great for tv but that's just the location- no fault of hotel. Breakfast was lovely- super view from restaurant.Staff very friendly. Kitchen ventilation fan was a bit noisy but that can't be helped either.

Second time we have stayed and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Very good value for money with great food served in restaurant also an extensive breakfast menu using local produce. If I had to comment we felt the evening menu choice had reduced slightly especially if eating in every night of your stay but still a really nice experience with lovely friendly staff.

Our room was spacious, quiet, very clean with comfortable bed and large bathroom. It had a lovely view over the harbour. The staff in the hotel were very friendly and welcoming. The breakfasts were excellent and very generous. We had two evening meals and they were very good and reasonably priced the dining room looks out over the harbour and is very pleasant.

Our room, which had a river and sea view, was well furnished; we relaxed in comfort and watched the herons and gulls and murmuration of starlings before they descended into foliage for the night. The bathroom was also spacious.The dining room also had sea views and the food was very good with ample breakfast fruits kept in a fridge and a very good evening menu. We can recommend and hope to return. The only negative was car parking 175mts away.

My wife and I spent one night at this pleasant, little town. Easily walkable with nice shops and places to eat. Our hotel had plenty of room, especially in the bath room. It was cool with the windows open which made sleeping enjoyable. The breakfast was excellent!

We stayed at The Bank for two wonderful days getting around the pretty villages by Public transport. We were in room 19B in the annex part of the hotel lovely big room with plenty of space. The breakfast was amazing I can highly recommend the warm croissants with scrambled egg and bacon my husband loved the full Scottish breakfast especially the haggis and blackpudding. Definitely worth a visit ☺

Had the twin room that backed onto the main road, so a bit noisy. If you manage to get the room with a sea view, your stay will be even better! The restaurant for breakfast and booked meals provides delightful views of the sea and Dreel Burn estuary. Being a guest, also provides access to the Private Beer Garden which gets you up close and personal with that view, very beautifully maintained and attracts a lot of amicable wildlife!

Second visit to the Bank. Hotel is in a great location. We checked in at the bar and were taken to our room and shown how to work the TV , breakfast arrangements etc. We had a large sea view room which was well appointed and very comfortable. We dined in the restaurant which had a nice atmosphere. The meal was well presented, delicious with hearty portions. All staff were friendly and helpful.Great choice for breakfast. Huge delicious Scottish breakfast which was piping hot. Will be back!

The hotel was so quaint but had a new sophisticated decor in the rooms. The added fan was a great addition as the weather was warm.

Absolutely loved our days spent here in, The Bank. Stayed in room 6 and was very impressed with the wonderful spacious room and stylish decor. With the hidden gem of a seating room at the back allowing one of the most picturesque views of Anstruther and the sea you can find in the town. Attention to detail was seriously thought out when preparing room 6 for people's enjoyment during their stay.The dining experience was fantastic with staff very attentive and friendly.Absolute perfect location with a two minute walk to the harbour and beach area.Definitely look forward to returning and staying at The Bank again in the near future.

I would highly recommend The Bank for a stay. We only stayed the one night but next time we hope to stay for 2. The room was a lovely big room, the only downside we overlooked the street but it was quiet. Next time hopefully a sea view. We didn't eat there apart from breakfast. The cooked breakfast was good apart from soggy haggis. I feel there should have been more self service choices, rolls, pastries, cheese, hams, etc . Check in and out very simple, quick and easy . Staff friendly and helpful.

When we arrived the staff kindly took our luggage to allow us freedom to walk around the shops & cafes. When we returned they had the luggage stored in one of the rooms. All rooms were fantastic for us girls. Really comfy beds. Ate in the hotel - fantastic food - thestaff are all so friendly. Breakfast was more fantastic food. Will definitely be back. We arrived at the Bank on Friday evening a little late so the hotel was closed. We managed to get squared away with the help of Catherine and bar staff.What amazing rooms the Bank offers, we had 6 single rooms each with hot showers and white fluffy towels, great for after wet golf days. The restaurant and bar staff made you very welcome and soo we were part of the furniture.The food is excellent, Katie looked after us so well(she is a treasure)We will be back, deff, thanks to all the Bank, a truly wonderful stay

We spent one night on a Birthday visit. The accommodation was excellent - everything was provided from tea, coffee and hot chocolate to really attentive attention. On arrival we were shown to our room and given a lovely welcome. We used the private gardens - enjoyed the peace and quiet on a beautiful sunny afternoon. Excellent stay.

Very enjoyable stay at the end of a 3-week-long road trip! Room was bright, clean, cozy, and in such a convenient location! I was on the ground floor/high street-facing and it was a little noisy when it was bed time since the bar and beer garden were right there, but nothing my earplugs couldn’t handle. There was a convenience shop across the street and The hotel also has a restaurant so it was very convenient. They were also very friendly!

Firstly, all the staff were fantastic. So helpful and attentive. Brilliant, a real assetThe room is a bit dated but comfortable, clean and perfectly ok. Bit pricey for what it is, but that's tourist season for youThe only downside was the food. Dinner was just about ok. Garlic bread was so dry, steak pie lacked flavour. Lots of meat but the sauce / gravy was very bland. Breakfast was just terrible. Coffee was watery and despite there being a barista style machine came from a filter. Sausages were tepid, eggs hard. A real let down and obviously all pre cooked as it all arrived in a couple of minutes. Holding food not an issue, but you only had to look at the plate to see it was far from good.I would go back if staying in the area but would probably go for fish and chips by the harbour!!

Le parking de notre voiture n'a pas été trop compliqué, un parking gratuit étant proche de l'hôtel.Seul soucis, notre chambre étant au rez-de-chaussée, la sortie du bar vers 2 heures du matin, avec un groupe d'hommes très sonore qui ont pris beaucoup de temps à discuter juste devant les fenêtres de notre chambre...

The hotel is really nice, staff really friendly and helpful. They take you to your room, explain the set up, show you where to park. The room was small but very comfortable. Bathroom was a good size with plenty of hot water. Great sized bed, a safe and mini fridge, kettle, tea and coffee. We stayed two nights and would not hesitate to book again.

We (4 adults) stumbled upon The Bank about 10 years ago and it ticked all the boxes for us: good food, very clean, lovely location, and nobody knows about it. They maintained their high standards yet again, but must point out how particularly helpful all the staff were on this occasion.

Very comfortable hotel with rooms overlooking the Dreel estuary and Anstruther Harbour. Excellent bar and restaurant adjacent. Only problem is limited parking, although there is a public car park just up the road.

My husband and I were on a Scotland road trip with my parents. We loved The Bank! The staff was incredibly service oriented, friendly and thoughtful! The rooms were nicely laid out, the showers were great, and the beds provided the best night of sleep on our 5 day trip! The food in the restaurant and the view of the ocean were amazing!!! Loved it! We highly recommend it!!!!!

Excellent staff. Good Hotel/ Pub. Good Food. Also ate at their Waterfront restaurant also which was nice. Only problem was room 27 - could see in from the outside, especially with dusk approaching - looked like a butchers hop window. Other than this it was a great stay.

I chose to stay in Anstruther because of the Isle of May boat trip. The bank had good reviews and was reasonably priced. It exceeded my expectations for a place to stay. The rooms my group stayed in were lovely, the beds were comfortable, the bathrooms were nice, and the complementary breakfast was delicious. Thank you!

Connor went above and beyond to fit us in for dinner, and on explaining that we’d be leaving pre-breakfast he offered to have a packed lunch made up for us to take away. This was so comprehensive and we were so appreciative! Thanks for a wonderful stay; we look forward to returning in future!

We had a very nice time at The Bank. Our room was lovely, with a great view of the ocean, and a spacious bathroom.We had a nice walk along the ocean, had a drink at a lively local bar, and decided to eat dinner at the hotel.The food wasn't spectacular, but it was good enough and the service and ambience were excellent, so we thoroughly enjoyed the evening.We stayed in 4 different hotels in Scotland, and The Bank easily ranks as #1 in our books.

This was my second stay here and I honestly cannot speak highly enough of the staff, service and food. I'm coeliac and therefore finding places that offer GOOD quality gf food can be hit and miss, this place takes it seriously and the battered gf fish and chips they offer is *chefs kiss* delicious.Secondly due to an issue with my car I was stuck waiting for the AA not far from The Bank and they were kind enough to have their staff arrange to bring my dinner out to me in my car where I had to wait for the AA to arrive. Excellent service and so accommodating - would highly recommend!

We opted for a room with a sea view which was lovely, a good size, a large bathroom and a very comfortable bed.The small guest patio was lovely to sit in when the sun was shining.The staff were all friendly and helpful. There was a great choice for breakfast.One point to note, if travelling with a lot of luggage, drop it off before you park your car.Would definitely recommend and return.

I loved staying at The Bank Hotel. Our room was absolutely amazing. Our room number was 19A . Fantastic views overlooking the water. The room itself was large and the bathroom was also large with a bath and a good size shower cubicle. Everything was spotless and looked freshly decorated. The food was delicious and the staff were so friendly and welcoming, a real asset to the hotel. I would definitely love to stay here again.

From the moment we arrived to collecting our 'left luggage on departure everyone at The Bank was so helpful and hospitable.Our twin room was beautifully clean and spacious and we had the added luxury of a sitting room overlooking the beach.We had been a little shocked on arrival to realise how near the main road The Bank was but the spaciousness and the views more than compensated - and the food...!Especially the breakfast - amazing fish and such wonderful staff - thank you all

I’ll fondly remember soaking in our bathroom’s massive tub with abundant hot water following the day’s long hike. Our room had 10’ ceilings, fresh carpet and paint, and blackout curtains. Cozy, with lots of accessible electric outlets for our laptops and phones.We enjoyed the fresh fruit & juice selection that accompanied our breakfast entrees.

Travelling with friends to go on a trip out to the isle of May ( which was sadly cancelled!) , we stayed at the Bank . Reason for booking was its location close to the sea front and all amenities inAnster. Rooms were roomy, spotless and well appointed. Comfortable beds, decent bed linen and towels. It was surprisingly quiet even in the room directly beside the beer garden . The bar is clearly popular with locals, pretty loud with pool table and huge tvs with the football on if that’s what you’re after. Bar staff were cheery.Staff were helpful and friendly at breakfast too.Breakfast was fine, nothing out of the ordinary, but reasonable.We would definitely stay again.

We had a lovely staff at The Bank. Check-in staff were great,room 19A has beautiful view spacious and comfy.Good range of cold buffet for breakfast. However kitchen forgot about our order and had to wait for over half hour while other guests got served before us. My husband's full breakfast was nice but my scrambled eggs were not mixed properly not pleasant at all and cold croissant.Would stay again though.

My husband and I had an overnight stay on 25th April 24. The hotel was spotless and the staff were very welcoming.We had a huge room overlooking the street but no noise was heard. The restaurant has aspectacular view overlooking the water there was also a lovely beer garden which was a suntrap fantastic. Would highly recommend this hotel and we will certainly be back.

Very clean and fresh hotel with friendly attentive staff and great food.Only complaint is that my room was situated above the bar, and consequently every night the noise of music and chatter infiltrated my lovely room. The result was that each night,I couldn’t get to sleep until the early hours of the next morning.I do feel that this room with its noise pollution and dismal outlook onto the street should have been valued at a much cheaper rate than the other rooms which enjoyed quietness and a sea view but cost exact the same price!

Excellent facilities, bedrooms were modern and fully equipped.staff were friendly and amazing.The bar and restaurant were superb with an stupendous menu choice.

Great stay once again at the Bank in beautiful Anstruther . My room (number6) was very large , immaculately cleanand had great views of the sea .Breakfast was spot on as was the dinner we had with some friends . The room was fantastic but if you like to go to bed early and are a light sleeper ask for a room at the back of the Hotel as pub guests stood outside of my window smoking and chatting.

Had a very comfortable overnight stay. Bright spacious room,fantastic modern bathroom/shower. Very clean and warm. Downside was the busy traffic especially early am room 19b.Great cooked breakfast and service throughout our stay.Our second visit and definitely not our last.Would highly recommend.

We have stayed at The Bank for many years and have had no complaints whatsoever. However this time we were not in our usual room and were not too happy. After speaking to a member of staff, she quickly said she would look into the problem. It didn't stop us from booking again for next year.

4 night stay. Seaview room 8 not available for the 4th night when we booked so moved to room number 3 for 4th night. Unfortunately the Friday night late closing at 1am meant we could hear the music quite loudly until 1am and people gathering outside under our room window until early hours. Having said that we loved the hotel facilities, The staff are really helpful efficient, friendly and professional. Food and drink in the restaurant very good quality. overall enjoyed our visit and would revisit but maybe not on a Friday or Saturday if the only available rooms are over the bar area.

First visit to Anstruther and could not have picked a better place to stay. Room was big clean with TV and fridge, large bathroom.Warm and bed so comfy. Very central. There is free parking about 5 minute walk away which was perfect. Eating places nearby and cannot wait to go back.

We had a good weekend. Great staff, very friendly and helpful. Lovely breakfasts and evening meals. I haven’t received the email invoice with cost breakdown that I was promised but overall I would recommend the hotel.

We enjoyed a fantastic stay at The Bank Hotel.Having returned rather weather beaten after a day on the St Andrews Links we were given a warm welcome and quick tour of the rooms and the facilities.All the rooms we had were clean and fresh with nice en-suites.As a group of 16 we enjoyed a tremendous three course meal, the waiting staff were very attentive and also very patient with some of the older members of the party...! Everyone commented on how nice the food was all very reasonably priced. After a delicious meal We enjoyed drinks in the nice atmosphere of the hotel bar, including a good variety of draught beers. We were all well prepared for the following days golf with a marvellous breakfast. There was something for everyones on the breakfast menu and most enjoyed a lovely Scottish breakfast that was cooked to Order even though all 16 of us ordered all at the same time!

Having stayed with you previously in Nov, I feel a couple of things weren't so good this time - whilst our room was nice & comfortable ( room 4) housekeeping wasnt so good - t bags not stocked up , only 1 hand towel issued,breakfast sent back as cold .Staff were very nice & helpful.Assuming small issues are addressed , would definately return.Thank you

Lovely room with a lovely view. Breakfast was good. We ate in the restaurant which was nice but would have liked a little more choice.Was disappointed that there wasn’t a cosy lounge to sit in as the bar was very noisy with no comfy seats, only high stools. Would probably go back.

Arrived to a speedy friendly check in and was quickly feeling at home in my large, light room. The room was really easy to access and the location in general is fab for all nearby amenities.

Travelled up for the night from Edinburgh to celebrate my husbands birthday and get some rest after a hectic few weeks.The room was gorgeous - huge, comfy bed, amazing sea view and jacuzzi bath! It was clearly freshly painted as the smell was still there a little! You can hear noise from the bar downstairs, which we very much expected, but it wasn’t as bad as a lot of other similar places we’ve stayed, and my husband was so relaxed he was out like a light at 10pm and didn’t wake up til 9am!We had dinner downstairs in the evening, a beef burger and halloumi fajitas. Both were really tasty, and my husband had the tablet cheesecake for afters which I was a bit jealous of in the end, it was as a delight! Breakfast in the morning was really good, the black pudding was a particular highlight. The staff both at dinner and breakfast were informal but polite, chatty and interested in their guests.We will definitely be back, I think we’ve found our new regular escape from the city! The Hotel is very good, clean and recently redecorated and new carpets. The staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good as was the evening meal. We were in room 1 which was spacious and overlooked the sea. The problem was that is was virtually over the bar area and the music played until after midnight, so no sleep until then. We complained but it made little difference. We have awarded 4 stars because all the other facilities were good but zero stars for being kept awake. Control the music!

This is a lovely hotel, in a great location.Warm with friendly staff and has everything you need for a great stay. Fridge in the room was a nice touch and the bottles of water were much appreciated. No carpark but free parking very close by so it’s not an issue.

Lovely little sun trap of a garden. Just a shame there’s no internal access to the dining room from the hotel side, but it’s only a couple of paces on the pavement from hotel door to bar door for the dining room and there’s a supply of umbrellas provided for guests use in case of wet weather. Would definitely recommend!

We had a two night stay in February,hotel room and ensuite were large and very warm, staff were friendly and helpful and the food was very good, my only complaints was going into the bar, which was busy, to check in and out and there is no hotel carpark so we had to park about 400 yards away which we found was an inconvenience,we would easily stay again

We had a wonderful stay at The Bank, the room was really nice with wonderful views over the harbour and the Bath had a Jacuzzi which added that touch of luxury. Staff were brilliant, and nothing was too much trouble for them. All in all a great stay, and we definitely will return soon.

Booked three nights as a base for exploring (again!) the East Neuk of Fife. Fantastic room with everything you could ask for. Ate at the Bank as well and the food was very good and reasonably priced - The smoked haddock was to die for! The staff in the dining room, and the breakfast team were first class throughout really friendly and efficient. Thoroughly recommend and we will be back!

The Bank is situated in Anstruther High Street. There is no dedicated car park but it is possible to park in the street.The rear of the property has a beautiful view over the mouth of the River Dreel as it enters the sea. Our room was warm, spacious, clean and comfortable with a nice bathroom and good shower. We ate in the dining room/conservatory (next door) and the food was tasty, fresh and well presented. The staff were lovely and happy to help. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely return.

The only complaint could be that only one heater was on in the room and the bed was made with the covers folded in at the base of the bed such we had release the sheets so we could cover our necks.Apart from this minor irritant our staywas very good and the food was first class.

The Bank is a good base for a short break in Fife. Staff are very friendly and attentive. Our room was warm, spacious and comfortable with an excellent view over the old harbour at the mouth of the Dreel Burn (not the main harbour), we were fascinated by the changes in the tide and the busy birdlife while watching from our window. Breakfast included a limited buffet and a wide selection of cooked meals. Dinner was from a wide menu with lots of local ingredients. The bar serves real ales alongside the usual brews. Parking is very limited but there is ample free off road parking just a few minutes walk away. Most of the rooms are up or down stairs. The Hotel is very close to the main harbour which has shops, cafes and pubs as well as lots of boats to look at. Anstruther is on the Fife Coastal Trail and there are excellent walks towards Crail and Elie along the shore.

Have stayed at the Bank on numerous occasions now - and it's been great everytime - love the walking -I have introduced the Bank to many of my friends who have also enjoyed themselves very much - the staff are so helpful and welcoming and do their utmost to make sure your stay is a positive one - I will be back very soon - a big thank you

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Our room was spotless. The staff were extremely helpful and accommodating.I didn’t book room with a view but when I seen how beautiful it was I did ask if there was anything available and the man on duty Vic did try his best to accommodate me. We enjoyed our dinner very much as the steak was cooked to our preference and was so tasty as was our breakfast in the morning.I’m so looking forward to returning and this time I will ask for room with a sea view in advance as the views are truly stunning. As it’s only a short drive from my home so I will definitely be returning. Thank you. X

The first thing that struck us was how warm this hotel was as we arrived in a very chilly spell. Room was clean and spacious. Staff friendly and helpful. Great breakfast choice which was served hot. We also had a meal in the hotel restaurant which was also excellent.Only one minor complaint which was not at the fault of the hotel, but outside on the Saturday night was so noisy. People leaving the bar shouting, singing and just being so noisy when waiting for their taxis. This noise went on until after 1am. Maybe a notice outside the hotel to remind customers to be quiet as guest are sleeping would help.Overall a great stay.

On checking in the staff were welcoming and helpful. Delighted to get the rear room as requested as from experience know it’s a busy weekend andrear rooms suit us better. Room immaculate and great size as is en suite.We had booked dinner and it was very tasty and well presented.Waiting staff attentive and pleasant.During our meal our son had phoned and ordered us a drink, which was a lovely surprise. The gift of the stay was from him and his wife. Enjoyed Anstruther as always and been coming since 1975🤣 the member of staff who assisted us with a slight television issue was charming and resolved the problem. Breakfast as usual was delicious. Overall a lovely stay and hope to return to the Bank I. The not too distant future.

Had a wee 2 night break and left feeling relaxed and well looked after.All the staff are very friendly and helpful.The bedroom we had was large with the most magnificent view out to the sea.Wonderful watching the tide come in and out.The bedrooms have everything you need and are spotlessly clean.The menu has a large selectionand the food was very tasty.Great value for money.Only one slight issue is that there is not a comfy lounge to sit and have a drink.The bar area is quite functional but is busy with locals which is a good sign.Will definitely be back.

From our first contact through to leaving, all of the staff were very welcoming, helpful and friendly.We stayed in 19A- a beautiful, quiet room with lovely views out to sea - and always warm!We ate in the hotel on our first night where the choice and standard of food was so good that we did so again - a first for us when in hotels.I can’t praise this hotel highly enough .

We combined the celebration of a friend with a visit to Anstruther. Fortunately, we chose The Bank as our hotel. A beautiful, spacious room awaited us. The team was friendly and helpful and the pub was a great place to stay.In the morning we had a good breakfast with a view of the sea - great!

Stayed for 2 nights after travelling from England for a wedding nearby. The location, staff, food, locals and surrounding area were all faultless. Would happily come back for a visit in the summer however the weather for mid-November was exceptionally good. You can point your camera in any direction from the hotel and get postcard worthy snaps.

We spent two nights here and had an enjoyable time. The staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. Food was lovely as was the wine, we will return.

An overnight stay in Anstruther, picked The Bank at random and glad we did. Very good value for money, a nice room with a lovely outlook. Friendly staff and locals, nice welcome on arrival, had some lunch while waiting for the room to be readied. We didn't have an evening meal at the hotel, had booking elsewhere, but breakfast was top notch, freshly cooked and good choice. Will certainly use this hotel again when back in Anstruther.

Stayed here 3 times now twice in sea view rooms abs loved the view rooms spacious bed comfortable dinner when we ate in hotel no complaints as was breafast.Staff couldnt do anymore for you special mention to Victor so helpful and always smiling weve booked to come back in June and will prob have moe stays there next year when ive been stressed through health problems the minute i sit in chair look out at view it just helps so much and thats why i love coming to the Bank

We had an overnight stay in The Bank. Our room was spacious with a comfortable bed and lovely bathroom with a great shower. The safe and fridge were a good touch. We had a few drinks in the well stockedbar and ate in the restaurant in the evening and breakfast. The food was very good and the staff were friendly.The only downside to our stay was later on in the evening we could hear loud music from the bar and when the bar closed the noise from the street woke us up. If I was to return I would ask for a room away from the front.

Very nice, clean hotel at perfect location near seaside and all pubs and restaurants. Can higly recommend to other travellers too.

We have stayed at the Bank on many occasions and never fails to please, we had booked for a 3 day break, On arrival we were warmly greeted by Staff member Victor who really went the extra mile for us as nothing was a problem on request, we had a lovely Breakfast each morning with a really excellent choice on offer and super tasty, we also booked our evening meal which did not dissapoint, waiting staff are really friendly and attentive, our room was spotless and bed very comfortable great shower also, would recommend a stay here 10/10and another special mention to Victor first class.

My friend and I have been many times and always enjoy chill time especially when we are allocatedroom with view over the water. Just wonderful as always changing scenery. Staff are always very pleasant and service is excellent whether in bar or dining room. So very disappointed that we were promised on our last visit that food served on cold plates would be addressed but unfortunately not. Breakfast on both mornings were served o n cold plates. When I mentioned it the answer was that some of the chefs did . I appreciate it that service is more difficult when plates are not but when the food is presented and cooked well why not serve it on a hot plate . Fajitas were exceptionally tasty .

I, along with my elderly mum were booked for an overnight.When I arrived at the hotel it was bursting at the seams with customers.A member of staff attended to me immediately, despite how busy they obviously were, and showed me to our room.I explained that we were going for something to eat then return.Unfortunately, my mum took unwell, at which I decided we would be better returning home.I went back to the hotel and explained to the same staff member.She showed great empathy and understanding, I asked what did I owe but she refused any payment and offered our deposit back.I am very grateful in how this was handled and will make sure that I return to get an overnight.Thank you.

We had a lovely time in Anstruther at The Bank. Loved the place, the staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful, and Anstruther is a great wee place.

We received a warm welcome and were immediately shown to our spacious, comfortable room.Our evening meal and breakfast were both quickly served and delicious.The prices for the food and drink at dinner were very reasonable.All the staff were very pleasant and attentive.Our only gripe is that our room faced onto the street side which was fairly noisy from folk leaving the bar in 'party' mode which went on past midnight.Next time we will ask for a room to the rear of the building so we can give full marks.

We were here only 2 nights - if I had known how fabulous the hotel was, and what a beautiful town it was in, we would have stayed longer. Comfy bed, large bathroom, fantastic view of the Firth from our window, delicious food in the restaurant - we couldn't ask for more!But we also got a wonderful little town to walk around, with scenic streets, access to the beach, a nature walk up Dreel burn, and lots of history.We will be back.

Large and comfortable room, well appointed.Generous breakfast with lots of choice. Great location and views. Unfortunately advised on check in didn't need to book dinner but turned away at 6.30. Asked if we could maybe book for later, told no. So we didn't eat or drink with you after that.

Just had a two night stay at 'The Bank'. Wonderful from start to finish.Staff were so friendly & would do anything to help. Food 1st class. Rooms comfortable with excellent furnishings. Definitely be back.

My friend andI were absolutely delighted with our stay. The accommodation, food were first class, not to mention the cheerful and helpful manner of the young staff! We have been in Anstruther a lot and used to stay in The Craws Nest, which we loved, but as you know, it is no longer there. We have stayed in other places in Anstruthersince, but any future stay will be at The Bank!!

We had a lovely room with those wonderful window boxes to look at. Breakfast was delicious 😋 great selection and fruit was very fresh. Staff were great, very helpful and friendly. Would definitely stay again.

We had a wonderful stay at the Bank during lovely weather.We loved the sea views from our room, and the bed and bath were comfortable.No air conditioning, which made it a bit warm on the days we were guests, but I bet it is fine in normal Scottish weather.

We visit this hotel every year. The accommodation is fantastic, we go for the superior room and have a wonderful view of the sea. The breakfast is excellent with a wide choice of hot courses.We enjoy the restaurant in the evening, a tremendous range of delicious home cooked food.The staff make the whole experience extra special, nothing is too much trouble.Overall we would throughly recommend the wonderful The Bank and can’t wait until we return!

We had a great room with sea views to die for from one window.The views looking out to the beach and Sea at Breakfast and during our evening meal were stunning!!Staff were very friendly & helpful and food was great.Loved the Private residents secret garden.Only downside was we only had one night here.Definitely be back to beautiful Anstruther and The Bank!!

We booked the family room and I was expecting one room crammed with four beds. But the family room has a large double bedroom, a hallway with the bathroom off it, and a separate bedroom for the children with bunkbeds. This was a pleasant surprise. The rooms were spotlessly clean and well equipped. We couldn't have asked for more. Breakfast was plentiful and the hot food was tasty, with quick service. We only stayed for one night but had such a lovely experience, wished we were staying longer. Great hotel, will definitely return.

This is our fourth visit to The Bank and yet again we had a great time. Staff are very friendly and attentive, Very comfortable beds and bed linen is so soft and smells great. As "Arnie" would say. WE WILL BE BACK!

We stayed in the room next to the hotel. It was very clean, quiet, shower had great pressure, the room had light!!! (So many rooms you stay in have lights that “glow”). All the staff were extremely attentive and fun! The pub had a great vibe to it with the pool table well used. Breakfast both continental and hot was quality and quantity. I would highly recommend this for a stay.

We stayed overnight in Room 1 which was massive with a great sea view room and it was lovely. The beds were very comfortable and the bathroom was huge too with a shower and a jacuzzi tub. Breakfast was excellent and included in the rate. We would highly recommend The Bank

Travelling with adults from Australia who loved everything at The Bank.Had two large rooms with fantastic sea views.What an advertisement for Anstruther and Scotland from the warm welcome right through to departure.Cannot fault The Bank at all, loved welcome, rooms, bar atmosphere, excellent staff and breakfast.

We had room 1 which is very large with a huge bathroom and a good view over the sea. It was clean, tidy and well fitted.Dinner was good, as was breakfast.Staff were attentive and hosbitable.Parking could have been an issue but we were fortunate to bag a place outside the front door.Overall, very good and would stay again.

We had a marvellous time at The Bank. Stayed in the hotel & ate in the pub. Our room was very comfortable with an excellent sea view. The food was delicious and all the staff were lovely. They have managed that rare thing of being exactly the right level of attentive where you don’t feel like you are being hovered over but equally are not being ignored or left for too long. We were really impressed with our rooms extremely spacious and clean. Everything was in good working order no issues at all. We were in No 19 a little annex next to hotel with fabulous sea views and the Bass Rock. We had dinner in hotel first night excellent choice and good value. Breakfast was top class plenty of choice well cooked. The selection of fresh fruit was so fresh and local. Staff were lovely especially Victor who took our cases to room and was very pleasant in the bar as well. Would recommend.

Stayed in The Bank for 9 years now and it has been perfect every time. However on arrival this time we reported that the bedroom side lamp wasn't working and it still had been attended to when we left ☹️ that was our one and only complaint.

We stayed at the bank Annstruther on Saturday 1st July as we were going to a family party in Crail. It was a great room we had a superior en-suite double and we had our son with us who slept on the sofa bed all beds were really comfortable and the room was excellent. We also booked in for dinner before going to party and that was great too great value for money I’d certainly recommend staying here we had a great experience both with accommodation and restaurant we will certainly be back.

The Bank Hotel was a very pleasant surprise. All the staff were helpful and efficient, the room was spacious and comfortable and the beer gardens enjoyable.

On arrival, staff member on reception wasn’t very enthusiastic, but ok. Room was nice and spacious, the only complaint is that carpets had few stains. Otherwise lovely building, staircases, high ceilings, back yard is very pretty. View from restaurant is amazing and we enjoyed our food, dinner and breakfast, good quality food. Serving staff was nice too. I would come back next time but would make sure I would book room with sea view otherwise if your room windows looking at front, can be noisy with public in pub. I am pretty sure I did book room with sea view but couldn’t see any info in confirmation email. Anstruther itself is very good place to visit, glorious Fife coast

Stayed at The Bank overnight from the very get go the staff couldn’t have been more helpful, we arrived by car but didn’t know where to park and when I phoned and explained where we were one of the staff members came out to the car and told us where the parking was it was a little bit away so she offered to help us with our bags. She took us to the rooms and helped carry the bags in. The rooms, although a bit tired, were clean we were put into an annex off the main hotel which was we felt, safe and quiet. We had dinner which was lovely and a few drinks afterwards. The bar staff and waitress were all very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good there was a great choice to be had with big portions that would keep you going through the day and surprisingly, almond milk!There was no rush to check outand again the bar staff were all very helpful and friendly.We enjoyed our stay however, the rooms we had were a bit tired and could do with updating there was a little patio available in the downstairs room but unfortunately there was a bit of a drain smell that was a little off putting. All in all though we had a lovely time at the Bank and would not hesitate to book again in the future.

Check in is at the bar then you are taken to the residential part of the bank. We were given room 4. Room had everything we needed, bed was very comfy, usual tea coffee, fridge. The view we had was fantastic looking over the hotel gardens and the river out to sea and bass rock. Only minor pickiness, but an easy fix is toilet seat needs tightened and shower head needs a new washer to keep the clamp in a higher position. Breakfast was buffy style for cerials, fruit, yoghurt but cooked was to order. Lovely breakfast came and was most enjoyable, again from dining room a cracking view over to the isle of may, bass rock and craigleith

We were mostly very pleased with our stay. The staff were all very pleasant and accommodating. The breakfasts were terrific. And the beer was excellent!That being said, some constructive criticisms…1. The beer garden could be better maintained intra-day…late afternoon, it tends to be somewhat amiss2. The housekeeper did not clean our room the last day, just left towels outside.3. All rooms with twin beds should have two sets of keys4. We stayed in a wonderful room with views over the river. All the necessary facilities were in the room and everything was spotlessly clean. The staff were very helpful and chatty. We enjoyed the choice of breakfast including kippers and smoked haddock. This standard can only be supported by the correct culture in the hotel. Well done Bank Management.

Arrived in evening with friends, shown our rooms No6 friends, us No 8, good facilities. Back in next door for later supper meal, last in dinning room but service and food good and timely. Staff very efficient.Good quiet nights sleep, then afull selection of breakfast options with nice views over river/sea front. Reception being the bar counter and again very competent staff to administer accordingly.It was off to the The Isle of May refreshed and very pleased. One negative TV did not work but we reported this.

The Bank is in a great central location with lovely views to the rear. Rooms are spacious and clean.Breakfasts have a great selection of fruit and hot food and are served in the ( hopefully) sunny conservatory.Pleasant staff. Very good value. Would recommend.

It was our first time staying in the area and we were delighted with this small comfortable hotel. Facilities very good, great choices for breakfast. There is also a small patio area for residents to sit outside which was perfect.Only complaint was with the old style windows. Tried to open it to get some fresh air in room but pane looked like it would slip right down so had to close it again.Would be happy to stay here again.

Second time of staying at the Bank, won't be the last. Staff extremely helpful and meals very generous and location excellent and peaceful. Good place as a base to explore the East Fife. Recommend a stay, you will go back.

Our room was spacious and the bed very comfortable. The huge en suite bathroom was clean, with a vast bath (which we didn’t use) and an excellent shower (which we used). We enjoyed the view from our window, across the stream down to the sea and the harbour wall. Our only criticism would be the annex location and access to the room up a flight of steep steps directly from the street, negotiating a door halfway up the steps. It was a bit awkward, and would be an accessibility challenge for some guests. The staff were kind and helpful. We enjoyed our breakfast, but didn’t have an evening meal (arrived too late)

We were extremely delighted to be met by a large kind viking who carried our big cases in a couple of minutes up the stairs!! Our room was luxurious, with amazing views, very clean and had the high ceilings and grandeur to make our stay very special! And the jacuzzi bath was a lovely bonus!!The food was soooh good I have already been spreading the word!! This coupled with friendly staff made our stay unforgettable and my German husband even said he would come to you again!! Only little set back was the parking but negligible when the rest was grade A!

We stayed at the Bank for one week in 2022 and have just returned from a second week there. We stayed in the best double room with a magnificent view over the Dreel burn, and former harbour which is one of the most beautiful views we know.Anstruther is a delightful place to stay and The Bank is well placed to access the harbour and the facilities. The hotel itself is clean and well managed and all the staff are friendly and willing to help in every way.Breakfast is taken in a modern room which offers a superb view and there is a wide variety of food options.There is no residents lounge so that free time needs to be spent in the public bar areas which are spacious but popular.Parking is available for up to 4 cars directly outside the door and a large free car park is easily accessible a short walk away. We have never found this a problem. We have used our time in Anstruther to both walk the coastal path and explore the surrounding area. We feel we have used all our options so probably will not be back but have no hesitation recommending The Bank and wishing its delightful staff all the best.

Always enjoy the visit been few times room was great. Full cooked breakfast could have been better taste wisethink might have changed food suppliers for sausages haggis etc had food during day however and it was excellent. Defo be back 👍

Arrived in Anstruther late (11pm+) after delayed flight to Edinburgh. Had booked another hotel - but they had closed their doors for check-in and I was effectively stranded. The Bank was open for drinks still and I crashed in and asked whether they could possibly find a room last minute for me - long story short, the skeleton staff at that time pulled out all the stops, found me a room, couldn't have been more obliging. As it turns out, the room was actually lovely too. Bonus on bonus, the breakfast was absolutely top-notch. Can't thank everyone there enough. Would recommend most highly. Bravo.

Stayed in room 6 on the ground floor. Room was huge and spotless with another smaller room at the back overlooking the beach. Despite being at the front there was little noise from people outside coming and going from the bar next door. The breakfast was excellent with a wide choice and all freshly made.All in all a really pleasant stay and we will be back. Thoroughly recommended!

After several previous stays in the main building, I was surprised to find myself next door.Although the room was lovely and warm and the bed was comfy (the most important things!), I was very disappointed to find a shower instead of a bath.Also, as a single female, I felt much less safe in this room, with very little between me and the outside world and no-one nearby.On the upside though, everyone I dealt with was friendly and the breakfast was superb.I'll certainly be back, but next time, I'll request a room with a bath, on the other side!

We were surprised with how large the room was (especially considering there was a secondary room attached for families with kids or extra guests). The view from the secondary room was beautiful. Despite being on the ground floor and right next to the pub entrance, we didn't really hear people going in and out much. We only heard the guests next door since it was a busy Saturday night. The bus stopped right out front and everything is within walking distance. Check in and check out was a breeze and everything was very clean. The smoked haddock for breakfast was great. The only critique that I would have is that their wifi kept cutting in and out for some reason. Aside from that, we had an amazing time in Anstruther.

Our annual 2 day trip to the Bank was once again a success. The weather was sunny so we enjoyed the residence outdoor area which was a sun trap, not to mention the lovely views. Great choice for breakfast and the usual lovely staff all helped make our trip memorable

We had a lovely one night stay at The Bank. We'd booked the family room and were pleasantly surprised when we arrived and were shown to our room which then opened out into two separate bedroooms (one with one with bunk beds and one with large double bed) and a bathroom located between the two rooms. We've previously stayed in family rooms where all the beds were located within one room so this was brilliant to have them split between two rooms but be accessed from one main door. We ate our dinner in the restaurant and although it was a little noisy as we walked back through the bar, as soon as we reached the accommodation part of the hotel it was incredibly quiet. The views from the back of the hotel were beautiful- over the river and sea. And the breakfast was great- large portions of all the different hot breakfast options and a lovely buffet selection as well. Thanks for a lovely stay- we would definitely stay again and would highly recommend.

Our room was absolutely huge and had a fantastic view! Room was spotlessly clean with a large bed and everything you could need for an overnight. My partner loved the sky sports channels on the tv! Only downside was the windows - it was very windy during the night and we were both woken up several times with the windows rattling both in the bathroom and the bedroom. Overall a fantastic stay.

Our room was excellent, and particularly enjoyed the residents' private garden. Breakfast was excellent, and evening meals were good. Service in restaurant was generally good, but staff sometimes over-stretched.

Accommodation n service were great. The hotel bar was absolutely rammed (Saturday evening) and I’m glad our room was not over the main bar area. Breakfast was good and staff were very helpful. Hotel restaurant was busy and we didn’t get a table (kinda glad because bar was very noisy and busy). Ended up at the Wee Chippie which we’d highly recommend.

I always enjoy my stay at the bank.My only gripe, as i explained to your staff was a cistern that ran constantly, and an issue with the pressure with water pipes!These issued i passed on to staff, so hopefully these will have been addressed before maymy next visit.

My son and I stayed at The Bank on a short golfing trip to the area. I have stayed on numerous occasions and again was not disappointed.A warm welcome greeted us without any fuss as we have been previously. The rooms are spacious and well maintained, decorated to a high standard and most comfortable.Staff are friendly, helpful, polite and knowledgeable about the area.Tremendous food with a great variety, served hot and always with a smile.There is a well stocked bar with a good choice of beers and spirits.If in The East Neuk staying here would always be my first choice.

Had two nights stay. Very cosy and comfortable bed. Everything needed was there EXCEPT there was NO chair in the room. There was a stool at dressing table and nothing else. My husband gets bothered with his back so needs support for it. Had to ask twice before we eventually got a dining room chair. Have stayed at this Hotel many times over 15 years and this is first time we have had any complains. Otherwise very happy, staff friendly and helpful. Food very good as usual.

Lovely big room and bathroom. Warm welcome and good views over harbour. Working pub had great atmosphere and food especially fish was delicious.

We had a lovely, spacious room with a very large, comfortable bed. Everything was immaculately clean and we liked that the teabags were refreshed every day. The staff were very friendly and the breakfast and evening meals were really delicious. We can't fault it.

Stay here often. Lovely, spacious room with comfy bed & good shower. Down side was the restaurant was busy & we waited around 50 mins for dinner. There was nowhere to sit after as the Bar was also busy. Had to go back to our room. Friendly staff, good value for money as got a mid week deal.

Nice, quaint hotel, with excellent accomodation ( huge, well laid out bedrooms, with everything you'd want for an enjoyable stay included) nice pub, friendly staff and great food.Good views of harbour from bedroom. Managed to find parking space outside front door too, which was lucky, otherwise would have had to park a distance away, which is the only downside to staying there. A very pleasant stay with large comfortable room with every facility needed.One little issue, squeaky doors in room. I worried in case other guests would be disturbed when I opened and closed the doors!

Returned for another stay at this lovely hotel. Positives were the room and it’s view and all the staff who were exceptionally friendly and efficient.The only negative was the breakfast. It was still good, but just a bit less of a standard than on our previous visits as this time there was no fresh fruit or yoghurts for breakfast, just small boxes of cereal, before the excellent hot options. Also previously the toast was made from lovely artisan breads, which have now been replaced by what appeared to be cheap own brand bread.I would far rather have paid a few pounds more for the breakfast to be as before, this is the wrong place to try and cut costs.

Last minute booking and found a wee gem of a place. Great hotel with super friendly staff as well as a terrific menu with excellent variety . Definitely a place to return to.

Staff where really friendly . Food was top drawer . Clean room . My only quam was the room I had was quite noisy with the traffic . It's not a big deal I still really enjoyed it and would return .

Booked in for wee weekend break. Hotel was clean and room spacious. Friendly staff. We were staying in room to the front it was a bit nosy with being on front and bar. However when closed so quite.Breakfast was good great choice and restaurant was also good and prices too. Would recommend this hotel . We had a great weekend away.

My friend and I had room 19a which is amazing loved sitting at the bay window great view. Bathroom lovely so much space. Stayed at Bank a few times never had that room but will certainly be booking it the next break. Staff were lovely nothing too much trouble. Good food young girl on breakfast on Sunday morning was so busy but did everything with a smile and a chat.

super stay at the bank made special by the staff who were helpful and delightful.The location is brilliant, the rooms immaculate .The bathrooms were very good but would benefit from some toiletries other than just hand gel .We really enjoyed the bar area and the food offering which was very good . The hot breakfast range was extensive and the quality extremely good. The cold options were somewhat limited and could do with a selection of fruit , pasties and yogurt.Other than a couple of observations that did not spil our stay we had a great time at the bank and have no hesitation in recommending it . We hope to return very soon

We stayed at The Bank for 3 nights (Thu - Sun) and we found it to be very welcoming and comfortable.The room was well decorated and warm, with a comfortable bed.We had a view out over the Dreel Burn and onto the sea, which was quite relaxing on the sunny days!The breakfasts at The Bank had a varied choice and were very good. We also ate here twice in the evening and again a good selection and the food was good.The staff were very friendly and attentive, so thanks.There is only about 3 parking spots outside The Bank, so most likely, as we had to after unloading our luggage, is to park for free in a local car park about a 3-4 minute walk for the hotel. If I was staying in this are again The Bank would be on my list to use.

This is the 4th time we have stayed here. The rooms are very clean & comfortable & the food is excellent. Would recommend this place if you are visiting the Fife coast and looking for somewhere to stay.

Had an excellent stay at The Bank. A cosy yet spacious and elegant room. delicious food and friendly, attentive staff. And it just has a lovely atmosphere; you feel welcome from the minute you go through the door. Will definitely be back.

Clean modern refurbishment of the old National Bank of Scotland branch and manager’s house. We had a view of the old harbour from our bedroom.The Bar and Restaurant facilities are in an adjacent building but here is no internal connection.The restaurant has magnificent sea views and the food good and well presented.Parking was not possible at the hotel but a large free car park was nearby.The staff were friendly and helpful.The town was probably still in winter mode as many shops were not open on Mondays and Tuesdays. The Bank is a good base to explore the East Neuk from.

The room was brilliant, extremely happy with the shower and comfort of the bed which was a standout for me. Staff very friendly and helpful. General manager really nice guy and again very helpful. If I ever travel up again would stay again and recommend anyone else to stay at the bank too.Thanks guys

We had a great 2 night stay at the hotel. Room was lovely and food was brilliant. Staff were very attentive and friendly. Only thing I think can be improved is perhaps a booking system for breakfast.When we went for breakfast one morning all guests arrived at the same time and there were not enough seats in the dining room. There was a long wait and the staff were under pressure.

Stayed here for 3 nights and had a lovely relaxing time. All the staff were attentive and always greeted us warmly. Our room was cosy and beautifully placed with sea view. Was our third visit to The Bank and we’ll return.

Hidden gem in Anstruther, rooms spacious clean, good sized bathrooms and very comfortable beds, need a little bit of redecorating, the brown makes it very dark, views make the experience, great views of harbour and churchOnly criticism is breakfast, juices and tea are very important in the morning please don’t skimp on theseThe bacon was so overcooked in was almost inedible and the egg was cold. Breakfast is the most important part of B&B it’s the last memory of your stay. It’s not difficult to do, menu a bit messy keep it simple but quality. This is not a slur but hopefully a critiqueThe staff were all professional, attentive and a credit to the hotelWill definitely stay again

We have use many large hotels and small hotels and found them to be either very shabby or in a serious state requiring a complete renovation!The Bank however is really well kept and the staff were outstanding! Very helpful and polite also very pleasant to chat with. I can honestly say that the Bank is our number one hotel and we must have another visit soon!

We stayed at the bank for 3 nights in February, the view from our room was breathtaking, our room was so nice very cosy.We had our meals at the bank and cannot fault any of them very good variety and cooked to perfection.We cannot praise the staff enough, they go out of their way to ensure you are having a wonderful stay, nothing is too much trouble for them, we would especially like to mention Scott, he knows how he made us feel and really cannot thank him enough for making our weekend so special so please pass on our thanks to all staff but especially Scott,we will definitely be returning.

Stayed for one night, dinner bed and breakfast. The room was fantastic and the food was good. The price of a glass of wine was very expensive. Scott was excellent but he was run off his feet as it was so busy with the rugby. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and will definitely come back. Thank you.

Our 4th visit to this hotel, but last visit was 2020. Was excellent on first visit in 2018 and has been of the same high standards on each visit. Friendly staff, cosy comfortable rooms which are alway immaculately decorated. Food in restaurant is also excellent.

Just returned from a week's break at The Bank and can honestly say its been an absolute pleasure. The whole setup is a credit to Scott and all of the team at the Bank, nothing was a bother. Our room , as was all of the hotel, was spotless. The food served in the dining room was superb with a great choice available, my wife's favourite was the haddock mornay. Also great range for breakfast. We will be back 👏👏

We spent just one night at The Bank on a last minute booking as we decided to walk some of the Fife Coastal Path and this was in a perfect location. The room itself was clean, comfortable and the bed was massive. However, we would ideally have appreciated a room with a nice view of the sea so book more in advance if you want that. The breakfast was good with a range of traditional Scottish and English options; gluten free options also available. We also highly recommend the Dreel Tavern for dinner.

Very surprised to find our room was in fact a self contained flat with patio.Very spacious and quiet, although it was sunny too cold to make use of the patio. The staff are lovely, very friendly and attentive. The food was deliciousand a varied breakfast. Only criticism we had was there was no yogurt or fresh fruit at breakfast. We visit Anstruther every year but this was our fist stay. Thank you The Bank.

Had a fantastic two day break between Christmas and new year. We stayed I a superior room 19A which had a lovely view over the water, the room was a great size and immaculate with sky tv which was a bonus. We had dinner both nights in the restaurant which had a large selection to chose from with really friendly staff to make your stay enjoyable. A great place to relax with great views over the water this was our third time and definitely be back in the new year. Thanks to all the staff for a lovely two days.

We have been coming to the Bank Hotel for quite a few years now and have never been disappointed. The rooms are always spotless, warm and welcoming. The staff are very friendly and very helpful. The location of the Bank adjacent to Anstruther harbour is also a bonus with parking nearby. We will hopefullybe back soon.

We arrived early for our one night stay but got into our room with the minimum of fuss. The room was lovely and facilities were ideal for us. A slight hitch to get our tv working, but that was resolved for us. A very enjoyable stay with an excellent breakfast choice, and breakfast provided. Our departure was again handled with the minimum of fuss. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and “We will be back”.

Staff are great, room was lovely with great views, breakfast quick and good quality, convenient for everything, great value for money. The only minor downside and this is just personal, Christmas music loop in the bar on the 23rd November, give me a break, it will come soon enough, Christmas booking for the restaurant don't start yet thats early enough for this, it will wear a bit thin by the 24th Decemeber.

Very comfortable accommodation, food very good and staff very friendly and efficient.

Visited The Bank several times before and yet again lives up to expectations. Clean room, good food and friendly helpful staff, whats not to enjoy. Looking forward to our next visit in Easter 2023.

We had a fantastic stay here for 2 nights. The room is really spacious with such a comfy bed and high quality linen. The bathroom was a very good size too, will definitely visit again!

Ideal location, comfortable and clean, friendly service and lovely breakfast, would book again.

Massive room, with comfy chairs to look out at the beautiful room. Bathroom big, only annoyance was the shower head wouldn’t stay up- fitting needs fixed. It was quiet, and a lovely location. Breakfast was ok, my husbands haddock was good. The location & nice staff make up for any shortcomings & we may come to stay atas in

I think this is the third or fourth time we’ve been that includes the Waterfront as well. Always enjoy coming. Staff always helpful and the cleaning and tidying excellent. Only one small thing, my other half Martha was sure there was an option of yogurt at breakfast. We will be back when we can escape grandchildren! Yrs David and Martha.

We have stayed her a few times now and found the accommodation to be recently refurbished with large bathrooms and spacious. The staff have always been lovely and the food in the restaurant is excellent. Would definitely recommend 😊

The hotel provided everything needed for our golf trip . The accommodation was excellent and the food was superb .

We were delighted with the room and ensuite facilities.The view was lovely and we were very comfortable.Our evening meal was very good and we were very well looked after by the staff.The only disappointment was the breakfast as neither my husband nor I liked cooked breakfasts.There was no fruit or yogurts on the menu

Lovely hotel in great location near sea front.Ideal for golfing, visiting East Neuk towns and St Andrews.Large comfortable room with sky TV, fridge, hospitality tray and safe.At breakfast we helped ourselves to juice and cereals.Good choice of hot breakfast which was cooked to order.Hotel also has a very good dinner menu which we pre booked.It was very busy but food was excellent as was service.There is a beer garden and also a private outdoor seating area for residents.Staff were all very pleasant and helpful.There is limited parking at the hotel but a free carpark is nearby.Would recommend.

We had a lovely stay in this clean hotel. Staff were friendly and accommodating, our twin room very comfortable with triple aspect windows.The views were amazing over Anstruther beach, breakfast delicious- highlyrecommend!

We chose The Bank as a base for a 3 day golf trip to Fife. The staff were, without exception, efficient and friendly. The rooms were very nice, as was the food, and the service was excellent.There are only two or three car parking spaces available directly outside the hotel although there is a free local car park a couple of hundred yards away.Checking in and out is done at the bar….it’s unusual but it works well.Those of us with rooms at the front of the hotel were occasionally disturbed by traffic noise and loud conversation outside the bar….the windows are single glazed…but this was a minor inconvenience.We would have no hesitation in using The Bank as a base for future trips to the area. It’s a really nice, well-priced, well located Hotel with a friendly feel.
